About

Dr. Linden and Michelle have been veterinary colleagues since 2000 and have nearly 25 years of experience caring for pets.

They are ardent proponents of in-home euthanasia, believing in the extraordinary value of a pet being able to be at home with its loved ones as goodbyes are said.

Jane Linden, DVM

Dr. Linden graduated from Tufts University School of Veterinary Medicine in 1999. She completed an additional year of intensive training in Small Animal Medicine and Surgery at Rowley Memorial Animal Hospital in Springfield, Massachusetts, and worked in a private practice for five years. In 2004, she fulfilled her dream of opening her own veterinary hospital –Providence River Animal Hospital. In addition to her veterinary education, Dr. Linden holds a bachelor’s degree from Brown University and a master’s degree in social work from Boston University. She has found her background in social work to be invaluable in helping owners make decisions about their pets.  She is passionate about creating a peaceful and caring environment as owners say goodbye to their beloved pets.  Her experience performing in-home euthanasia over the last 20 years has affirmed for her that home is the best place to say goodbye to your pet.

Dr. Linden lives in Providence with her family, including three dogs (Bee, River and Tilly).  Dr. Linden is an avid bird watcher and biker. When not spending time with family, she can be found with a pair of binoculars watching birds or biking (sometimes both at the same time).

Michelle Sylvester, CAETA certified technician

She has served as the head technician and staff manager of PRAH since it opened. Michelle is passionate about establishing environments that allow pets and owners to have a better, more comfortable experience while receiving the highest level of veterinary care. With this in mind Michelle earned her Companion Animal Euthanasia Training Certification thru CAETA. She is committed to making sure that a pet’s last moments are peaceful and comfortable.

Michelle lives in Massachusetts with her family including three cats (Harry, Hermione and Ron). When not working she can be found at the beach collecting sea glass to incorporate into jewelry for her jewelry business.
