Pets at Peace knows how difficult end-of-life decisions for your beloved cat or dog can be. To help provide comfort during this difficult time, we offer in-home euthanasia. This will allow your pet to spend their final moments in the place they are most comfortable, surrounded by the people who love them the most. This eliminates the noise and distractions that can occur in end-of-life pet care at a veterinary office.
We are licensed to provide services for pets and their owners in Rhode Island and Massachusetts. Our business is based out of Providence, Rhode Island and our fees for at-home euthanasia vary based on travel. Our vast experience shows that at-home pet euthanasia provides a peaceful transition in a private setting for your cat or dog and your family. It is just a better way to say goodbye to your pet.
How our service works
We offer full concierge service to personalize your experience based on your comfort and needs. This level of care unfortunately cannot be offered by busy veterinarian clinics. We also offer additional services for aftercare of your pet such complete management of cremation with or without the return of your pet’s ashes.
Home visits typically last 30-60 minutes. To help your pet have an extremely peaceful passing, your pet will receive a sedative that includes anti-pain and anti-anxiety medication. This typically takes 5-15 minutes to take effect. Once your pet is very relaxed Dr. Linden will administer an intravenous injection that will result in a gentle slowing of breathing and heart rate until your pet has passed. Dr. Linden will listen to ensure that the heart and breathing have stopped. This process can take as long as five-ten minutes and is completely peaceful.
In-home euthanasia is a planned, controlled end of life experience that is tailored to you and your pet’s needs and comfort. We are passionate about making your final moments together gentle and calm.
